SXSW Eco

Rebranding, repositioning and relaunching a sustainability conference for SXSW. At the time, we (what.it.is) were the first external agency engaged to create the identity for a SXSW property, a process traditionally entrusted to their then in-house agency, Foxtrot Bravo Alfa.

It was early days in the climate movement. To capture the organization’s mission to become the go-to watering hole for the world’s most forward-looking energy companies, innovators, and policy leaders, we drew on inspiration from from the DIY punk movements of the late 1970s and 80s. Taking the trademark stencils, colors, and collage of the era, and making something
entirely new.
